Battery LED volt meter in empty frame tab
« on: July 24, 2014, 05:09:26 PM »
Just finished up my summer restore on my 71 cb500 and thought I'd share what I did with my ballistic battery monitor. Ended up attaching it to one of the empty frame tabs. Should be pretty cool at night. I'm curious to see if it ends up draining the battery at all.

Here's some more pics of the rebuild:

Love that -- what'd you use for the voltmeter? Looks like you got other electronics jammed in there. What's the other meter?

Bought the LED monitor from here, but looks like he is no longer making any :(

I also have an Argus Battery bug in there, but not connected all the time. Starter and starter solenoid are removed.

nice!
got mine for about $4 off ebay.  Its no bigger than a quarter. comes in 3-4 colors.
I sealed all but the face with some black plastidip spray.
Had it wired into my headlight there, so it reads a litte low with the bike off, but I rewired it to my starter solenoid during my rebuild and it reads true now.

Thanks, and nope, it was a quick build. Had it back together in a couple days after I got the frame back from powdercoat.
