Slide carb rebuild kits
« on: July 25, 2014, 05:53:36 PM »
Bought a set of rebuild kits for my slide carbs. They came with a set of 110 jets, but my bike has 105s in it. Is this a huge difference in size? I bought the kits to get the needles and seats, which fixed my fuel leak issue.

If your bike is running fine, no need to replace the jets.

+1. Reuse all the original brass. Just make sure it's cleaned thoroughly. I ordered new rebuild kits as well when I did mine and I did use the new valves and valve seats but mains and idles were fine.

Not really.  110 let a bit more gas through.

I agree with the others - the original Honda brass is better than the repops

Thanks. I will advise against the gaskets in these kits- they're absolute crap. They swelled on me and popped within a day. I ended up making gaskets.

You can thank the ethanol gods (or demigods) for swelled orings.  Viton seems to better withstand ethanol.
