What do you think Vern, you like-um The true stocker guys like me, Vern, Johnie and many other members here who still think the 69-76 CB750 is still one of the best looking bikes out there when its in stock trim just like when they were sitting on the showroom floors 40 years ago. Don't get me wrong their are alot of very nice CB750's on this forum an many don't have HM300 or 341's. They are getting harder and harder to find and the price keeps climbing upwards also, but IMO doesn't matter how nice of 750 you have if it's minus the HM300 or HM341 pipes their is just something missing. The pipes add the finishing touch to these bikes. And I think most will agree with me
Bike looks great Vern! Don't forget to change your avatar pic. That bike with the 4 into 2 pipes doesn't exist anymore
So Chef was the man who hooked up Vern with a spare set of 341's he had hanging on the wall? Great that worked out good for Vern
Oh my God DHall, getting those pipes were a dream of mine from day one when I bought her 4 years ago, I knew I would get them eventually one way or the other. The sound of that deep rumble makes the hair on my neck stand up and bring a big #$%*-eating grin to my face when I hear it! Yes, they are a lot of great bikes here with the 4's but those pipes were the last piece missing for me, I'd suffered through years of Pipe Envy! I agree, the Cb from that era are still the best looking bikes on the road.
My bike had always been a magnet for people wherever I go, and even more now! I had a guy on a Yamaha Star chase me down through rush hour traffic at 5pm here in Atlanta, which is a living hell, and he pulled up next to me and proceeded to drool over Pandora, it was probably the blinding glimmer of those shiny pipe! Man did I get lucky because they are in amazing shape, no scratches or patches anywhere, the original owner must have swapped them off the minute he got home and put on a loud "can". I'm indebted to Chef for the rest of my life, he made a BIG sacrifice. I have to figure out a way to repay him somehow.
Now I have a real 750- 4, no insult intended to those out there who aren't into the stock look.
Yes I will change my avatar today, after I give her a nice bath before her photo session. There's nothing like the roar of a 750 4!!!!!!!!!!!!!
