Stock length of plug wires? CB750
« on: July 30, 2014, 10:18:55 am »
I'm going to try a coil mod on my CB750 and need to get some new plug wires. Not at home to measure though.. anybody know what the stock length is? I can buy wire by the foot.
If it's worth doing, it's worth doing twice.

16" is more than enough. My spare set of stock coils measure two at 13" and two at 7 1/2". Leave them long until you have the coils remounted, and cut them to give the best routing allowing a little extra for those times when you have to trim them to freshen up your connection to the plug cap.

Probably a stupid question, but should plug wire's be the same length?

I used them both ways - ie short 2,3 and long 1,4 and now I have them all the same and if it makes a difference, I dont feel it.

The plug wires only need to be the same length if you are using suppression wires, as the resistance needs to be constant.
