Well, just got an email back from Mike R. yesterday stating he thinks my head is not even worth trying to repair for a few reasons. Now to try and find another one.

I know how that is.  On the 750 I am working on, the head I sent him was too roached to repair. Mike hooked me up with a replacement AND a killer stage 4 job.

He just got back to me that he found a replacement head for mine. I know I shouldn't be, but I am still surprised by the half-assed dumb #$%* people do to "fix" something and ruin it for any future owner! Oh well, it will be right now.

Also in the mail the other day, fork tube lowers, alternator/coil, fork lowers and springs from seanbarney41. Thanks again! Now on to polishing. Hopefully as good as edwardmorris.

HA! Thanks. Though now that I'm done with it, I won't do it again. 73Nancy/Ryan charges $120 (I think) for fork lowers, which I think is a steal. That is what I'd charge just to clean the mess in my shop after days of sanding and hours of buffing that I did to get a reasonable finish on them.

Sure is, where did you get them done? Compared to Browns, Ryan's prices are amazing, but $40 forfork legs is incredible.

My painter has the hook up.  Some guys that do polishing for him.  I just dropped them off looking oxidized and WHAMMO, got them back all shiny and bright.  I know I "cheated" but it beat the heck out of blistered fingers the last time I did it.

Started frame kit today.

Measured and taped.

I used zip ties to trace a straight line around the frame tubes then slid out of the way and cut.




Mocked it up, started to tack weld it, then ran out of wire

Will finish later this week

Trying to keep things moving, working on what I have while waiting for cylinder head to be done. Got a complete rack of carbs last year with brand new rubber boots. (086A) started polishing bowls/ tops, soda blasting bodies.


Also, found a solution to broken fins on cylinder head. I put out a message to my friends on Facebook looking for recommendations for a good aluminum welder to fix fins. My friend showed up at my door with this...

Said I could have it, bought it by mistake for his F bike. Lucky day!

Devin's listing twin Mikuni carburetors for twin motors, but I didn't see any 2-1 manifolds similar to the Cycle X set up.  I must be blind.

I had to sand the bowls. Tried just buffing, but no go. They are pretty bad in person, needed to get some mild pitting out with sandpaper.

Collecting parts as I come across them. Got a complete rear hub, great condition, that I just need to clean up a bit. Also got this original seat in the mail today. This thing is sooo clean. Very happy

Thanks! I was thinking about buying a repro until I found this one. Nice being able to take my time and wait to find what I really want. Since I already have a daily rider I don't feel rushed.
