Gorgeous! BOTY contender right there folks. That Planet Blue looks amazing in pretty much any lighting, but the black and gold behind it really make it look like a gem set in carved precious metals.

Today, my wife finally took some good pictures of the bike, since all I have is cell phone pictures. I have been riding it daily and it is running GREAT!!!

I almost went with the gold like yours, was literally a 50/50 choice. And, when it comes to motors, I guess aluminum is a precious metal!

That's funny, I almost went with the blue because it was a popular choice. I had a poll thread asking what to go with, but I had the choices limited to only the US correct K2 colors. Gold won by a significant vote, but blue was basically a "write in" winner with even more people saying go with that. While technically speaking its K2 correct, it wasn't zip code correct  ::) ::) ::) so I went with gold (which admittedly, has grown on me).

Dave Z's CB750K3 listed for sale: http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/mcy/5161885384.html

The listing states: "This by far is the nicest CB750 around, you have to see this bike in person to appreciate how nice it really is."

Yes, it is VERY nice, but the K2 is even nicer!!

So, just to share something I learned (may be common knowledge, may not) I re-used the same pads with this new rotor. Upon first test I noticed the front brake was very weak! I took pads off, scuffed them with 100 grit sandpaper, cut a groove in the middle to reduce squeaking ( learned this on last build)  wow what a difference!  Took it through quite a few turns today, and it feels great

Time to get some Honda gauges and restore them. I went with reproductions from z1parts because the price was right and they look great. Just this week, my speedometer stopped working and the odometer actually started moving backwards. (I have 2000 miles on it) I also had problems with the tachometer. Their customer service is great and they offered a refund right away.  Just ordered some resto kits from Marcel. Pics to come. I want to get the mileage on the restored ones set to 2,100 if I can do it too.

For now, looks like my bike is missing an eye

I'll be shipping you some gauges today, Dave.  But you will need to restore them before you put them on that beautiful bike!

Super easy to do once you get that small c-clip off at the end of the spindle that rolls the numbers. Careful though, its much too easy to lose that little POS and end up looking for a donor gauge :o

I decided to mess with a tach I had before the ones from Steve-o arrive so I don't mess anything up. Managed to get it apart fairly easily. The damper pot was empty, but looks easy to refill. Everything else cleaned up nicely.

Have to be very careful with the spring, make sure to support it and move as little as possible. I ordered some rc car diff fluid as well as some white lithium grease for the speedo when it gets here.

I thought the later style ones didn't use damper fluid and had magnetic bases? OCICBW.

Just to be clear, I have no idea what year this tach was from ;) I know it is later than K2. I just posted up some pictures so others could have some reference if the inside of their tach looks like this.
