Cyber stalked by motorcycle stuff.
« on: August 02, 2014, 06:36:39 PM »
I went to JP cycle supply web site and bought two sets of tires, quick service but they are over a year old contrary to what the phone tec said. Anyway, now almost every web site I go to there's the ad for tires, tubes and clutches. On one page there were 3 ads framing the link and I couldn't even see all of it due to the multiple flashing ads. At some point it's a little freaking annoying.

Then I looked at a guitar on Ebay now that is showing up on my facebook timeline. Want another look? Want another look? My wife wants to know if I'm buying more guitars. Jeeez, give a guy a break.

Clear your cookies and delete browsing history often. Buy one similar to what you got and say you had it all along. She wont know the difference.

Very annoying especially if you use google chrome.  You could go into the settings and try to remove Extensions craps along with cookies and history.  Get good antimalware scanner also

I think they have some actually called anti-google, if indeed it's not msn stuff.  I accidentally loaded the chrome with a java or somesuch  program and knew it when it happened and got rid of it immediately.  They try hard to load it to you in numerous places and as far as I know the only guy who uses it has the crappiest slow computer because of it. He still loves it, and all I can say to the guy  is get off the bottle because he thinks ie is problematic.

I'm in IT, not biased towards any browsers in particular.  In fact, I use both IE and chrome, never have to use Firefox.  Certain browsers work better than other isn't necessary true, just that certain websites support particular browsers.  Blame that to their programmers that are too lazy to support all browsers. The principal is simple, just like everything else in life, know what you have and know how to use it.

I agree with goldarrow, the sites have to support a good range of browsers.

As to avoid being stalked, in Chrome at least, you can use the adblock and do-not-track extensions to curb it to some extent. Clearing browser cookies and history each time (you can enable this in chrome too) also helps.

It's just cookies. Clear browsing history and cookies and it all goes away till you shop some more.
