(New Guy) CB350F project
« on: September 07, 2014, 04:01:12 PM »
Greetings Fellow Motorcycle Addicts,
If this post is a duplicate, it's only because I thought I flubbed the post the first time through.
My latest project is a 73 CB350F in weathered condition. I figured it was a safe bet at $200, so I took it home. I've got a lot of experience in bringing bikes back to life that have sat out for years, so if I don't run into any major problems, I should have this one on the road soon.
The main reason for this post is get some feedback on the headers on this bike. I've looked at dozens of SOHC bikes, and cannot find this particular header configuration anywhere.  Cylinders 1 and 4 join on the right side, and cylinders 2 and 3 on the left. Is anybody familiar with this set up? Are these advantageous for power/economy/sound? Does anybody know who made them?

Nice find at $200 bucks!  Are those California dollars or NY dollars?  Just kidding.  That is a great price.  As for exhaust I got a similar setup on a CB750 I just sold to another member here.  Can't say if there is any advantage to the configuration at all.  Sounds good, decent back pressure runs.  Back pressure is very important on those small engines.  Not enough and forget about having a decent idle.

Look forward to more info.  Keep the pics coming.
