750 header clamp size? Aluminum?
« on: August 04, 2014, 12:37:14 PM »
Hey guys,

Im away from my shop for a while but thats not stopping me from ordering things ;D

Can someone tell me I.D of the header clamp?  1-1/2" ?

Think a thick aluminum collar could crack in this case?  or slightly under size it so it clamps to normal size? maybe just stick with good ol' steel?

Thanks!

Elan

Can't help with header clamp size but you can use aluminum. They don't need to be super tight to the bike, tight but not cranked out. The stock shims aren't exactly beefy pieces to begin with.

The dirty girl-1976 cb750k, Ebay 836, Tracy bodykit
Round top carbs w/ 38 pilots, middle needle position, airscrew 7/8ths out, 122 main jet
Stock airbox w/ drop in K&N, Hooker 4-1

Don't trust me alone with a claw hammer and some pliers

Better measure first, taking 3/32 out of a clamp all around can make it thin, plus bolts might hit the pipe
