Stuck case bolts cb750
« on: August 05, 2014, 05:18:49 PM »
Alright I need some help getting these case bolts out. I got all of the top ones out eazy peasy. The bottom ones however, three are now rounded, three are out and a few arent budging AT ALL. I tried a ratchet, a hammer impact, a snap on 1/2" 14 volt impact, and now Have no idea how to progress. If all else fails one of the techs at my shop has a 1" makita impact but I'd rather not escalate it to that.

Any advice? thanks guys.

Try using some vice grip pliers, should get a good grip on them to twist loose.

vice grips didn't work at all, Craftsman makes a special socket which I bought on recommendation from a tech at the shop. it absolutely wrecked them. Literally chewed up no edges left and this socket combined with a hammer impact still gripped them and got them out. Highly recommended.
