After a great internal debate I decided to sell my (2) Rickman CR750 chassis. I will now concetrate on building my Moto Martin ultralight
and my Seely with corect period partsq
1975 MotoMartin 836cc
1976 Rickman 1150cc Turbo
1977 Seeley 890cc + 1/4 stroke
3 parts bikes,1970K0 to 1978ss

Get paid to do it,it's work; pay to do it,it's a hobby

That must have been a difficult decision to reach. Though I agree keeping the Seeley, they always were the better bike  (can't speak for the Martin though) - but a nice Rickman is a very nice bike indeed, the one below is one of my 3 all time favourite sohc4s, it's a real stunner and one of those few bikes that to me is just right with a great specification and condition, if it was mine I wouldn't want to change a single thing (ok, the yellow plug leads would go). Unsurprisingly, it sold for the most that I've ever seen any sohc4 go for in a proper auction... worth every bit too. Maybe yours will end up looking as good...

I think that Rickman belongs to a friend. If so, it is a beautiful bike and very well restored down to replating of all fasteners. It is however designed for racing, and as such is not really designed to be comfortable to ride on the street. Anybody with a neck problem will understand.


That must have been a difficult decision to reach. Though I agree keeping the Seeley, they always were the better bike  (can't speak for the Martin though) - but a nice Rickman is a very nice bike indeed, the one below is one of my 3 all time favourite sohc4s, it's a real stunner and one of those few bikes that to me is just right with a great specification and condition, if it was mine I wouldn't want to change a single thing (ok, the yellow plug leads would go). It is the one Ben......I know the fella that restored it. ;) The Rickman chain adjustment system makes it not such a great roadrace platform. The Seeley was a much better frame.

Actually I just received a post and this is the bike I was thinking about. Apparently, there is some casual talk going on  about Barber acquiring it.

i just got back from Naples Fl. Before the trip began I had no intention of selling the other Rickman.Driving lotsa miles gives one lotsa time to think.The bike was to be set up for drag racing and some of those Miler races. It really didn't even have to turn.

  Dave from Legendary Motorcycles bought a chassis I had on ebay and I brought the other one with so he could make a 3-d scan of it. We ended up striking a deal where hes' making an alloy tank,seat and fairing for the Moto Martin and he got the Rickman and paid some cash upfront.

Now the Seeley and Martin can get the attention and respect they deserve for a sympathetic restoration using period correct parts I've had stashed away for year.

  Now it's time to get my original K2 back together and go racing

  Hi I just picked up a 1974 Rickman Honda do you have any idea where I can get bits and pieces?
the small screws and bushings that hold the lower fairing mounts are bad and I'm going to need a rear set shifter
I posted  but I'm just looking for info,  Thanks  Dave
