cl90 Stuck Rocker Arm Shaft
« on: August 07, 2014, 01:30:19 PM »
I have a CL90 motor that Im trying to bring back to life. One of the rocker arm shafts seems to be stuck on the rocker arm and wont release. There are no threads on the inside of the shaft to pull it like a bigger engine.

I have tried heat, PB blaster heaving cleaning in ultrasonic. Im okay with killing the shaft but I would like to preserve the head casting if possible.

Does anyone have any tips on getting it to release beside taking a grinder to it?

can you drop it in the freezer for an overnight? Cold may help create enough separation to allow the rocker off.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S.
