I machined it on a Haas VF2 CNC.
Right now just the bottom side is a 5hr cut but I should be able to speed things up once I start to fine tune the tool path. I want the part to look cast so I need the step over on the tool path to be as fine as possible.
This is why it takes so long to machine. I'm hoping that a good sand blasting or shot peen will take care or the really fine tool marks.

Well, you've captured my interest.   What specs did you end up going with and have you figured out what you'd charge for it?

I went with the stock offset of 60mm for this first one.
I plan in doing a version for the GL conversion. I just got set of clamps from eBay to get the offset from.
I'm still trying to figure out a price. I want people to be able to afford them. Once I've complete one, I should have a better idea of what it cost me to make.

Looks like if you get it down to 1.5-2 hrs, they should be affordable..and sell well.
 My buddy used to get single sided arms built out of several blocks of billet. First they had to add computer capacity to the mill. Run time was over 40 hours, they got it down to 32 ish, i think..for one swingarm.. Lot of runtime.
 Good luck with them,maybe you can have a Christmas TREE sale..heh..heh..
