Topic: Windjammer fairing

I sold one for $50, but it took a month or longer.   My current project, a 550F, came with one, it went straight to the dumpster.

They are actually hard to find on East Coast, must be this western thingy

When some show up on CL, people list them for hundreds of dollars and it never sells, I have been looking for one for 6 month now.

I'll keep my eyes open for one,  in this area we usually just throw them away...Larry

Except for the pristine seat, that's almost a complete duplicate of my bike.  Even the tall seat back.

I just sold one off a GL1000, upper and lowers, for $40. Still have the one off my 750. It works but unlike Hondaman I think they look dorky and are incorrect.

Please advise if you have any experience with these. I'm particularly worried of braking the rear frame around the back.

I have a pair in storage, not sure if I am gonna use them, they are bit bulky for me and I dont like the build in turn signals.

Got me a used set of throw overs for my trip last wall, they worked well enough.

I have a set of the Shoei bags in question, and have used them on a couple 1000+ mile trips.  They will not harm your bike when correctly installed, as they are surprisingly light weight and their rated weight capacity is also low.  Mine are kind of old and delapidated, and I probably had them over loaded.  Both trips I broke mounting brackets and had to improvise road side repairs.  It's a shame because they are certainly the best looking option out there for these bikes and work very well minus the weak brackets.

You're not the first one to complain about the insufficient sturdiness of the Shoei. It's a real shame because I really like them.

Can anyone comment on the sturdiness of the Vetters and the Bates? Any better? I really don't want to end up with a broken mounting bracket!

Throw over worked for me - but for the rain you have to put covers on them and they don't really work 100%.  They are on the small side, no way I could travel and camp with those in two people.

The Shoeis are in storage, never had them installed; I messed with it for a spell, but it was not feasible to hook them on Dorothy for the Barber trip.

But overseas I had second hand Krausers, they worked really well for us:

I had the Bates bags and trunk on my Goldwing and had no issues with anything breaking.
