Sucks is all that I can think about too. I hated his stand up comedy (didn't find his humor funny), but his movies are soul-touching.

I think i'll have to watch a few in remembrance. RIP.

A sad day. I spent many hours watching his movies, stand-up, etc. laughing so hard I cried..... he was a true comic genius, must have been a tortured soul, also. May he rest in peace.

Other than Good Morning Vietnam, I never thought that much of his acting.  He was a gifted stand up Comic up there with the best. It is so sad.

You have to wonder why with his fame etc that he would suffer such hard depression ??  Just goes to show how serious the problem can be.  ;)

He always seemed to be a bit manic/depressive, or Bi-polar in today's terms, much like Jonathon Winters. My favorite performance was in Good Will Hunting, when he calmly removed his glasses, and then grabbed Matt Damon by the throat. RIP, Robin. :(

RIP Robin Williams.
It certainly is sad to hear about this.

Unfortunately, as we all know, lifes demons do overwhelm a lot of people which ultimately extinguishes any choices that life has to offer.
If I was you
I'd be worried about me.

I didn't mind some of his movies, but a lot of them sucked. I feel more sympathy for his wife and kids than I do for him, I hope this doesn't mess them up too much. Cheers, Terry.
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

For those not thinking he was good in movies, re-watch "Awakenings" and or "Good Will Hunting".  Really show his broad talent.

I enjoyed his stand ups, the one about golfing and understanding Scottish (Doric) is brilliant.
Some of his movies didn't turn my crank, like Dead Poets Society, but he was a good actor in his own right. R.I.P

If you want to see two films that Williams was stellar in watch The Fisher King and Death To Smootchie.

I like a Gershwin tune how about you?

There was a re-run of Night at the Museum over here on Sunday, and I commented to my son how I couldn't stand the bloke. And now this, and somehow I feel bad for what I said :-\

I have to echo Terry's sentiments though, IMO suicide is a selfish act, not sure what would drive someone to do that without thought for those left behind to pick up the pieces (and I'm in mental health!).

Sad news nevertheless.

what about "What Dreams May Come"  that movie put me in a strangely awesomely depressive mood for a short period after watching it.
