New guy from North Carolina | CB400F | CB550 project
« on: August 12, 2014, 09:05:55 AM »
Hello all!

First of all, thanks for the awesome site and resource, it really is great. I'm Vance and I currently live in the Greensboro, NC area. I've been involved in my bikes since I was 3 years old (first riding on the tank of my dads 75 CB400F which was just recently restored. I've had a couple different bikes but they have been newer sport bikes (06 636, cbr1000rr).

I just recently picked up a '74 CB550 and am building this as my own. We are also restoring my dads second '75 CB400F and I'll be sure to post pictures as we get on! I'm looking forward to meeting some like minded people and to shooting the #$%*. I am always down to wrench and ride so if you are in the area let me know!

Onto some pictures!

CBR1000R I had the pleasure of riding for a while:

My first time riding it since I rode on it as a kid (squid mode engaged):

Here is my bike I just picked up for $300 with a clean title '74 CB550:

I took the bike down and gave her a good wash. I'm pulling the head off right now and am sourcing some good carburetors and I'm going to make sure she runs before I start doing anything crazy.
