Getting back to the topic, I dropped my FT500 a couple of months ago, but I was too embarrassed to admit it.
I was merely checking the oil level, while kneeling on the right side of the bike. I pulled the bike up to vertical with my left hand on the seat, to get an accurate reading, when all of a sudden I realized I had pulled the bike over too far, and it fell over on me, with my left ankle pinched between the floor and the exhaust pipe. The full weight of the rear of the bike was focused on my ankle bone!. I was totally stuck, and in a bit of pain, when I remembered I had my cell phone handy. (sometimes when I'm in my shop, I set it aside to keep it safe from my accident-prone tendencies
) I called my neighbor/co-worker Clare, and asked if he could pop into the shop and lift a bike off me, and he was happy to oblige.
