I did a bad thing.
« on: August 15, 2014, 04:19:55 PM »
I've been wanting a dual sport for awhile now and my brother picked up a '93 xl650r. I wanted the slightly more street version made for people with shorter legs like me. So I picked up an '89 NX650 yesterday. This thing is a monster. Has so much raw power off the line. Not anywhere smooth like my 750s or nearly as much top speed but it's terrifying when the front wheel wants to come up in first and second. Now to get her all kitted up for some long road/offroad adventures :)

The sickness is real. At least it's a honda ;)

Proper punishment is to make you bring it to me, and I will ride it in front of you, and make you sit in the garage and write the following 1,000 times:

I am a motorcycle-holic and must not buy anymore bikes

When you've completed that (and neatness counts) we will discuss Step 2 of the 12 Step plan for your recovery. I'll be expecting you Sunday no later than 10 AM please. I plan to be riding by 11-

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Lewis

When I was a youngster I wanted one of those real bad.  What's the redline like 13000 or something?
