carburator and airbox for cb500, 4 cyl

How do I get the carb and airbox back on the cb500, 4cyl.  I've removed the battery box and air filter box and have given it a good cussin'. Still can't get them back in the hole!

The boots are not brittle, do I tie the airbox on to the carbs and put it all back as one piece?  I have had several beers and poured one on the carbs to no avail.
