Thank you to everyone for the tips, It was indeed valve clearance issues and a full carb vacuum sync that did the trick! no more tick!  sounds good and quick throttle response! Only issue I am having now is the petcock not flowing on the right side outlet.

I have a 500 tank running a 500 petcock with the 2 outlets. The right one is hardly dripping starving the bike of gas and causing issues. Tomorrow Im going to clean out the new petcock and see what happens. Dos anyone have any other tips or possible causes??.

Doing the whole Tag and Title thing tomorrow so expect a few more daytime pictures!

Sometimes with low fuel in tank one side will stop first, no idea why but have had it happen.

Feels good to get it finished tho' don't it

The tank was full and when I disconnected the lines still only one side would flow and it was leaking in the off position as well. With a full tank and the lid open or closed. Never buying K and L petcocks again. I have overnighted a honda one for tomorrow so we'll see if that helps!

I've heard of duel outlet petcocks not equally flowing, has to do with physics.  Cal can explain.....

Got the new petcock in but it's doing the same thing, only this time with a odd twist. In the first picture you can see both lines are full. But the right one will run out and quit flowing while the left stays primed. If I take my finger and pull on the line around the petcock fitting nipples some gas will shoot out between the line and the petcock and send a full Line of gas flowing down it as fast as the other line. Only it will use it up while riding and then again the left side will go dry.

So what do I do now I don't understand this. Possible fuel line issue? The lines are not pinched anywhere. But as soon as I " crack the line" a little and gas squirts out between the petcock fitting and the line it primes the line right up.

I haven't read entirely through your build so I don't know all the things you have done to the fuel system, but because one side is always going to have a stronger stream than the other you have to make the flow to the carbs as unblocked as possible for the weaker spigot. Make sure there are no kinks or really tight bends in the line, also if your'e using in line filters those can hamper fuel flow. Next I would check the tank make sure it's clean and fill it full of gas to put more fuel pressure in the system, afterwords leave the cap open while it runs and try switching between the reserve and on position and see how that affects the fuel flow. On my CB500 the left petcock spigot flows allot less then the right side and will act funny when the tank gets low or if the line gets pinched.

As of right now both lines are staying primed, not sure what's up with that. Rode about 10 miles locally today with no front breaks! I will work on them tomorrow and a fresh Avon Road Rider is being installed to.

Tyler,
the fronts are your Main stoppers;using the rears alone can cause you to slide-out but even if you use the front alone you'd be good.Get that front back on there.

I know I know it was mostly small back roads and I kept it slow. Worried about this stupid fuel issue. Did it to me again on the way home tonight, starts popping and bogging from lack of fuel and I have to let it fill back up

Both are clear and gas cap seal is new.  Its the weirdest thing, If i move the line on the petcock to allow air in it will start flowing great and fill right up, but then start to bubble out on the nipple where I let the air in. Left side flowing great no issues. There has to be a fix for this its ridiculous that this is holding me up and nothing is working.

Did manage to ride a little yesterday. Would be great if I didn't have to worry about the fuel issue though. Got the matching Avon Road Rider mounted and installed. No speedo as of right now the screw that hold the cable tight is stripped out beyond belief and the remnants of a old cable now stuck on the drive. I will try to Dremel in a flat spot for a flat head screw driver and see if that works.

it maybe could be the floats or float valves hanging-up/sticking a little? have you tried tapping lightly on the carb. bodies to see if that works? front brakes looks good  :)

Well as of right now the bike is ridable. When on the kickstand there is less fuel in the left line but not 100% empty. But must suck more when riding because it doesn't seem to affect the bike.  We do have a stumble until about 6k in First Second and Third gear, Honestly once you get into fourth and fifth there isn't much power and to keep her moving you really have to twist that throttle. I know its not a rocket but even my 350 would move in 4th and 5th. Could this be a jetting issue?

Went ahead and replaced the dim lights in the gauges with some Blue Leds BA9s, not as bright as I would have liked, I have some more in plain white I'm going to see if those are any brighter, might as well replace the dash with LEDs while I'm at it.

Remember the other 550 that I originally took the motor out of for this project?? Well here is that bike, only with the motor from the 1977 550 also included in the original deal. Since I am going away to trade school soon I'm hoping I can sell this and make a little extra money. I still have one 550 in the shop to mess with so I really don't need this one.  Besides the motor its a 1974. If anyone has a spare Airbox to Carb boot ( long type ) I really need one!

Well the break in period is just about over, Turned over 100 miles yesterday since the rebuild. Im going to change the oil and spark plugs and then re-tourque the head.  The fuel issue I was having still presents itself every once in a while and I honestly don't know what to do about it now.  the bike will start to loose power, backfire, and pop and sputter. Ill pull over and watch the fuel in the line fill back up, and then I'm good to go usually for the rest of the ride.   Before I leave for school my family and I took a Vacation to the Outer Banks for a week and I knew I would have to bring the bike!

So I figured it wouldn't hurt to check the Nags Head Craigslist and such, and came across this little gem. 1971 350 twin, mostly complete but needs a titles frame ( This frame is trash anyway ) and then the seller throws in a titled 1971 cb500 frame for free. Walked away with both for 200$  The 350 has the nicest original tank i have ever bought. If anyone has any parts for a 350 they want to get rid of let me know!
