any favorite companies?
want to replace the stock saddle on the CB650Z--- the "stepped" design mostly feels like a constant wedgie... maybe if i were 6" shorter................. i do not want to modify my original seat as it is immaculate...

i would like to find a flat-type seat, like the one on a GL1000... OR, a replacement cover with these properties (surely i can find a ratty seat to sacrifice for the pan)... i guess there is always corbin  ...

 How about getting another stock seat and send it to Sargent's custom shop. It worked for me.

Sargent has been making saddles for Ducati's and BMW's for a while now. I would say that their quality, workmanship and willingness to work with the customer on any special requests is top notch. They are basically the company that Corbin was when they were concentrating on doing one thing right. I have seen some of the things coming out of Corbin lately and am underwhelmed.

It depends on what you want done. Here is a link to their price list. I want to have them do a "solo" style seat for me similar to a guillari. It's looking like it would run about $240. But, could be done cheaper.

The white is garish. Plus I feel like it would be tough to keep clean, there'd be blue or black ass-prints eventually.

Not to mention what it would look like after a close call with a cage or a tank slapper.

I had Sargent make a replacement for a '94 Magna once. The first time it came out wrong, the 2nd time it came in as one for an older Magna, but the 3rd one was perfect. They were very apologetic for their mistakes and sent the replacements overnight each time and did not want me to send back their mistakes. They were great to do business with. I'm sure if you sent the seat to them, they would get it right for you. I plan to use them on my '76 750F and on my '01 FZ1.

I sent a refinished F2 pan and foam for my 75F. They cut down the front of the seat and inserted their Atomic Foam. They followed my request closely and the seat is great IMO. Top quality materials. That Atomic Foam.....maybe that's why my balls glow at night!

i emailed sargent, but havent gotten a response... i suppose i ought to start looking around for a donor seat...

anyone know if saddles from any other bikes will work? we all know that honda has a tendency to change things just enough so that they *look* like they will interchange, but they wont...

i have discovered that the euro CB650 has a flatter profile like i want... maybe somehow i can find one of those... (and complete stock rearsets, including brake and shifter linkage  )

just to let you know .. carpy does seats... cafe mind, but he uses the original base.. and does good work..

yes indeed, i have seen and admired those saddles...

alas, $450 is double what i can spend on it without regret...
