Airbox question!!! 71Cb500/77cb550k

Hey guys I got a problem that I'm hoping someone can help me with. I've been putting this bike together with a 77 550k frame and a 71 500 engine. I got a set of 627b carbs on there which I've got stock 100 and 40 in there. I figured I could order an airbox from a 78 550k that would for but I seem to be having a hell of a time getting it in there as well as mounting the airbox anywhere. Any suggestions or tips ? Thx a lot guys
The last picture shows a lid that was on the bike when I bought it. Although ther were K&N filters on there before.

Remove the battery box, remove the motor mount that holds the clutch cable and take out the 2 bolts that hold the electical panel and let it hang out of the way. Put in the part of the box that mounts to the carbs first then slide in the part that holds the air filter.

Beauty I got it in there forcefully but it's in! Unfortunately I wasn't able to bolt the last box in place but I doubt it's going anywhere right ?

FillionJ. It's completely beside the subject but I see in the picture we wear the same shoes.
I've never had Crocs before and, frankly, I'm surprised how pleasant they are. Not very good for riding though.
