Starting to feel like a goddarn mechanic these days!
« on: August 17, 2014, 12:23:06 PM »
It started out innocently enough, I'm rebuilding the engine on my CB550, complete tear down including totally rewiring the system.  I actually enjoy that work.  But I'm currently waiting for material to come in.

Then, the Tiger 1050 breaks down on the side of the road, overheated.  To all appearances it blew a head gasket, but I spent the entire weekend trying to demonstrate that and have nothing to show for it except for a torn radiator cap gasket. >:(

To top it all off, my lawnmower quit on me, so I spent my spare time this weekend cleaning and tearing down the carburator on it.

My truck had better not quit on me or I swear to God I'm gonna walk everywhere for the rest of my life (and then I'll probably twist my ankle).   ::)

We all been there, I recall one weekend where I had 3 issues on three different bikes... Holy #$%*e!
At least we are able to repair them, rather than having to bring to a shop.

Yup. Bright side: your tools are already out and ready to be put to use.  ;)

Do yourself a favor and give the truck some unannounced love. It will thank you for it later.

I am utterly exhausted.

I had a lot of plans today.  I'm canceling them all, gonna put some ice on my aching back, and relax.  Can't work on the Tiger until I get that radiator cap replaced, already mowed the lawn.  I suppose I could get working on that wiring harness but I just don't want to.

I'm gonna go grab a beer and veg.

My lawnmower's been playing up today. When I get round to looking at it, I'll probably ask you guys for help - it is a Honda after all :)

My lawn mower gave up the ghost from all the gas I fed it from the tank in my CB550.

All the winter gas that I siphon from the tank goes into the lawn mower.  The slow jet was clogged with rust and the gas utterly contaminated from the water all that ethanol sucked up.

I actually had to buy gas for that lawn mower.  I'm really beginning to not like ethanol gas.
