rear disc brake setup.
« on: August 19, 2014, 07:24:05 PM »
Ok going to be starting a project in a few month's.  Right now I am just collecting parts and what not.

I am looking for a hub I can run a modern disc brake set up for the rear.  Ive done a lot of searching and it have come up a little confused.

My bike is a 19?? Cb750. I got it on a trade and it is in boxes at the shop. Have acces to a mill and lathe and I mig and tig and have a bit of fabrication tools in my shop.  I am already planning on getting cognitos front hub just need to figure out the rear.

Thanks in advance

The 75/76 F rear is a double piston setup that will lock the rear in a heartbeat (better than the front). Maybe go with a 77/78 F single piston rear instead. Should be more than enough compared to the standard non-upgraded front. How about a double front and 77/78 F rear?!

I'd prefer what we have on my F vs locking the wheels and going down.

There should be a tag on the frame neck with the serial number and date.

thanks for the reminder on the 77/78.  I didnot knw 75/76 f had a double piston .

This may fill the bill.

I adapted 78F wheels to K3 frame - see my K3f build in signature line. I am using newer Honda CBR rear master cylinder in my setup.
