  • I love to restore & travel. Keep'em Going Strong !
I have a 1983' Honda XL200R single cylinder dirt/street enduro motor that I'll be installing into a 1981' CB125S road bike and want to install a stock factory mechanical tachometer  from the earlier 1975 model CB125S. The older design has the tachometer gear inside on the oil pump and the driven gear installed into the older style clutch side cover.
I was hoping that Honda would have still made a single cylinder street bike with the  185/200 engine in other parts of the world and installed the mechanical tachometer as standard from the factory. The right clutch side cover that comes on the USA spec. early 1980's models XL185 & XL200R enduro bikes does have the casting that includes the tachometer gear but they are not machined/drilled out as the earlier model Honda CB125 has been.
I appreciate any info I can get on this from anywhere in the world that will help me to install a factory Honda mechanical tach. such as the one from the early model years CB125S, Thanks  ;)
