There is no way to tell the actual mileage.  The speedo will work fine on that side, it just tells you that the gauges have been taken off for some reason.  Ask the seller, he may not know or play dumb. Don't ever believe a seller.

Brake master cylinder color finish looks way too faded or had been replaced.

I'm sure I can pick out some more off the bike...

thank you guys for all the help, its much appreciated. Yes the bike looks really good but it may be a put together bike and for that price and not running, gives me pause. I will make the final decision tomorrow but even if i pass on it i will look for another. I absolutely hate misrepresentation. If i was to buy a bike to restore or not sold as being an original survivor, then i know that and wouldn't expect anymore. But this is being sold as a survivor and the price is high for a non running bike.
thanks again, I'll stick around here if i buy this one or another.... If he adjust his price accordingly, i may still get it but not at the price of a original survivor.
You guys are a ton of help. I am glad i knew this stuff before instead of kicking myself after. Apparently this guy didn't do his homework when he bought it. He said he paid ALOT more for it 8 months ago than he is selling it for.

What country are you in or where is the bike from?

Front turn signals look wrong.  Should be same style as the rears.

The dials are swapped for position... and they are from a 76 model...  What is the date on the headstock tag?

Bars look to be stock, to me.

Bring a freshly charged battery. You can get them for around 50 bucks. Ask to pop it in.

Well this is one of those cases where the pics didn't do it justice, lol. It was way worse than pics. It was all there but in need of total cosmetic restoration. The pics made it look mint, not the case in person.  Coupled with the electrical problems, i  think this bike was worth maybe 12-1400, not the 2000 he would take. It might be worth 2k if it was running and in better cosmetic condition, Not as it was. So i passed on it, maybe i am picky. And to be honest, i didn't know how dinky of a bike this is. its very small compared to what i like and am used to. My KLR650 fits me perfect and this bike is much much smaller and less comfortable( to me)
thanks guys for all the help. I'll keep looking for something that suits me better. In HS i had a 500 Kawi 2 stroke triple. I am a much bigger guy than i was in HS and Im sure that bike would feel too small to me today also, which is the reason i went looking for that type of bike today.

Go look at the bike, I doubt it's mint...

Pics almost always make it look better than reality.
