New from the Twin Cities
« on: April 20, 2014, 06:20:17 AM »
What a cool forum.
I've been on this forum about two weeks now and already doubled my knowledge. Not hard to do... but I did know where the throttle and brake were to start.

Just bought a '75 CB 550K. The pipes are rusted, the seat cover is falling apart and has a large spare over, the paint on the tank is rough, but it runs great and I couldn't be happier.

The plan is to learn by doing a 3000K service, and do some cosmetic fixes too. But for now,

Welcome - I'm in SW Mpls.  Do the 3k tuneup, and ask lots of questions.  It's a fun bike and a great forum!

Cheers,

Thanks for the warm welcome y'all. I'm learning a lot from this forum.. there is so much info.
Trying to get answers from existing posts before I ask questions. Currently working on cam chain tension (it isn't self adjusting for me) and timing. As I work through the 3K I'm making a list so I can ask them all at once. Learning a lot and loving it.

Hope to see you other Minneapolis riders around (especially South Minneapolis, I'm close to Harriet).
