upgraded fuse block question

looking to upgrade my fuse block to a modern with blades.  any suggestions on what to go with?

i've pulled mine off and know the hondaman plugs right in, but was just curious if i bought a inline fuse block... how easy it would be to wire it...

probably take your advice and buy the hondaman one.  hahaha

We don't know your wiring abilities, there's a little fabrication involved. I bought a fuse box at autozone, it had extra space for my K0 so I ran a feed wire into the headlight bucket for relays in the future and left a couple extra fuses in there.  But then I like to wire things, I put a new harness in it too.

Buy Hondamans for ease of installation of a well thought out part. I went a little non conventional to suit my needs. If you like to build things, this is what I did.
I did the 3 fuse version of this one. It worked out beautifully, with factory style plug in
that fits the stock wiring harness. You have to order the correct terminals and each piece
separately, so read ordering instructions carefully. Requires the correct type crimping tool/pliers which you can get cheapest at vintageconnections.com The pliers can be used to make factory style connections with the factory style open barrel type bullet connectors. pliers come with instructions. Very neat and
clean. I'd recommend vintageconnections.com as well for connectors and supplies,
and as I understand, they support this sight, so by all means support them. they don't carry the metripack 280 fuseholder like cycleterminals.com., however, so you gotta deviate a bit.......
Mine probably cost a little more to build, and it fit my space constraints a little better, so I'm offf the beaten path a little....
New fuses and holder make a noticeable difference in electrical performance and the
fuses are available everywhere.

i opted for the unit below.  it works great and i like the cover over the fuses.  like others have said though, hondaman's is plug & play.  i had to make a bracket to attach this box to, that would then mount to the original threaded holes on the bike.  not too difficult and you will save a few bucks, but it did take some work.

I purchased a blade type fuse holder (5 position) at O'reillys for about $10. After that, it was just a matter of unsoldering the factory wiring harness from the glass fuse holder and then soldering it to the new blade fuse holder. I did not need the other two positions, so I used a Dremel to cut it off at that point on the block. I then used plastic weld to attach the bracket to the new block and mount it to the factory position. A little money and a couple of hours time spent, but I like having the blade fuses vs. the glass style fuses. From a maintenance standpoint, I think they will be easier to maintain, although the purist in me will miss seeing the original glass fuses when you pop off the cover. Be sure to use heat shrink tubing at your solder lugs and a little dab of liquid electrical tape on the backside of the block to seal out moisture.

Thanks for the advice Sprocket.... I already called Hondaman and ordered his fuse block... being built as we speak.

appreciate it a lot though!
