smooth runner
« on: August 12, 2014, 03:51:51 PM »
I finally got around to getting my 1970 cb750 JDM running today.  I went through all the tuneup procedures as usual oil change, adjust valve, points, timing, and cleaned the carbs and reinstalled old parts.  The odd thing was the way it came to life like it was warmed up.  it fired up immediately and idled smooth and perfect at 1000 rpm.  i didn't even have to adjust the idle.  Thats never happened to me before and I've done tis a lot.  the idle was so smooth no misses or stutter no vacuum sync needed.  I figure I got damn lucky today (not complaining) the motorcycle gods were looking down on me today........ Maybe the best running cb I have ever had. ;D

Why do the pics have to be 3.6meg size FFS. You get a lot of that here  ::)

I've always said that I'd rather be lucky than good. Looks like you nailed both this time.

Wow that bike is just beautiful!  Idles ridiculously well. Also she sure jumps up fast on the rpms when you give her gas. I'm curious how low of a SN she has. Did you find it with all the tins in that shape?

It does idle ridiculously well never had one idle so smooth... serial number is 1051780 , I know it sounds like it should be a K1 but the JDM bikes had K0 bikes running into K1 serial numbers. motor number is 1049228.  It has a very early version of K1 carbs of which I believe to be original.  yes the tank and the side covers are the way I found them and it is candy blue the pictures of that color always look more blue than it actually is.
