Just purchased my 2nd SOHC 750
« on: September 18, 2006, 04:47:51 PM »
Picked up a 78 750K for $450. 18k miles, carbs need cleaning as cyls 2 and 3 won't idle very well but once the revs are up she runs real good. Hell, I drove it home which I didn't expect to be able to do. Battery is new, new pipes. Needs the front brake blead, carbs cleaned, that's it. It's not show room but it's very solid. Cosmetics, needs seat cover and side covers as both are broke but guages are amazingly nice.

So, anyone have a line on both side covers or a decent seat, let me know. I'll be pulling the carbs tomorrow night to start that work. I plan on putting a sidecar on it. Currently the car is on my old Triumph and it struggles to much to pull it so this old gal should work out fine.

Once I get the car attached then I'll decide just how pretty I'll make it. Might paint the whole rig to match if it works out well.

It has some of those 2 point mount case savers that I'd be willing to trade out for some of what I need if anyone is interested.

Where does one even go to find an old side car?  Salvage yards?

actually I saw it in the local pennysaver, just a small sales sheet. Gal was asking 1200, I looked at it but didn't think it was worth it. New they go for around 1900. A couple weeks after the add came out I called to see if she still had it, she did. I offered 500, she grumbled a little then said ok. It's a 2000 model Velorex with all the mounts, windsheild, cover, etc.

So what the hell, I picked it up.

With that I hardly ever have to take my truck out. It's amazing how much you can haul in that thing, plus everyone loves to ride in it.

I have a 20 x 36 foot workshop next to my house. The house has a double car garage so the only car that sits in the shop is our little convertible.

Building my shop was one of the best things I ever did.

And I thought I was well off having a car-and-a-half garage and a carport.... Lucky you.

Will that seat cover fit a 1976 550K model?  Is it original?  How much do you want?
Thanks!
