Stickers!!
« on: October 29, 2014, 09:54:53 PM »
I have about a gabillion stickers floating around my house.  Every time I order from a motorcycle shop they always come with stickers.  Powersedge seems to be the worst, the stickers they send are pretty huge, but seems like all the shops have their own.

Trouble is, I don't want to mar my bike with some sticker, so my normal routine is to either toss them, or as is typical promptly lose track of them in the house.

How many of you guys actually use those stickers?  Affix them to your tool box or I suppose - put them on your bike.  I guess the answer is 'toss them you dummy!'  But I kind of like Powersedge, they've always been good to me.  Dime City's always been polite, but not enough for me to ruin the paint on a 40 year old motorcycle.

I used to have a shop fridge festooned with decals... Some put them on toolboxes.or a wall, or if you got a big shop Window, put them around the edges.
Also on car or truck...let's people know you like bikes..

I went to the U.S. Nationals drag race at Indy with a pit pass and came home with a bag full of stickers from all the vendors, I had no clue what to do with them all so I stuck them all over my tool box. That was many years ago so now days I toss any new ones I get because I'm running out of room to place them on my tool box.

I fill the door window with those stickers, it is like halfway full.

My door window is half of a sliding door sideways.

I started putting them on the toolbox...till that ran out of room...then it was the air compressor tank...then my co-workers laptops.

I've recently started sticking them to random folks car windows at the grocery store just to be ornery. just the ones for my car engines though cause putting a motorcycle part sticker on a car would seem silly to me.

Yeah I can't put them on my toolbox, since it's handmade maple.  I like the idea of sliding them onto the bumper of my truck though.  No one would ever see them since I never take the truck anywhere these days.

I've collected a few over the years. Most of them go to my tool boxes. I have room for more.

I was actually going through my collection today. I've collected them for years. I always grabbed them from distributors and manufacturers reps when I worked at a dealer. I always thought that when I got a decent toolbox, that they would go there.  But I've never done it.

I've got patches as well. Some vintage ones. Like Vetter Spectro, and a Honda one with a 60s wing.

Hey, that '60's wing might be something I could use to make a fake badge. Could you scan it and send a copy?  I've been trying to make 450 badges by scanning the badge I have into photoshop and manipulating it.

not to hijack but I like patches,i found a "2000"limited edtion snap on wind breaker with several well done snap on patches, after I washed it I found the zipper was buggered and the cuffs all stretched out,i threw it out again but retrieved it again and cut off all the patches and had them sewn onto a black short sleeve bisley cotton work shirt,i look like the best dressed snap on rep when I wear it save for the lack of ironing and sweat stains!maybe I should actually wash it?

The manufacturers love those stickers,it's free advertising for them;they ought to pay us for helping them advertise..or maybe sponsor a few of our builds...   ::)  ;D
