CB500 CB500t Fork Parts Compatibility
« on: August 30, 2014, 10:03:30 PM »
Hey All,

Quick question. Are the headlight ears from a CB500t compatible with a 72' CB500f. Different part numbers, but from what I can tell, pretty much the same. How about the entire forks?

Thoughts?

Also, if they are compatible, will gaiters from the 72 CB500 fit as well?

Funny thing is, the cb500t didn't come with fork gaiters so there may be no way to secure the ends of the gaiters on the 500t front end. Except for the handlebar mounts the triple trees on the 500 twin and 500 four were almost identical. All of the CB450 and CB500 twins 65 to 76, and all of the CB500 and CB550 fours used the same steering head bearings. Putting a 500t front end into a 500 four or vice versa should be a direct swap.

Thanks for the reply. I figured I could get some cheaper 500t fork ears, and then figure out a different method to mount the gaiters!

Thanks!
