new crank, how to measure?
« on: August 29, 2014, 06:04:33 PM »
New crank arrived from cyclex, was wondering how to figure out which bearings i need. one of my rods was damaged so I got a set off ebay in really good condition. Iv'e heard you either go by the markings on the cases or plastigauge it.

Suggestions? Thank you.

I would plastigauge it. The case markings only insure your bearings to your crank.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S.
