So I have been looking for an inline 4 CB400 for a while and I happen to stumble upon a titled CB750. I went and looked at it (not knowing much about bikes, just that I loved the style of the CB's) So after convincing two friends that know way more about bikes than me and tried to convince me to get a modern bike I got them over there to test drive it. By the end of the day I had a new cash paid for running bike in fairly clean condition and title in hand (something they can't say about their bikes... title in hand)
There are a few things I want to do, restore the original handlebars, I may be the only dork in the world like likes the originals, but right now it has cheap crotch rocket bars on it and I am going to rebuild the front forks, one of the dust boots is busted, and while in there I might as well upgrade to something modern. The carbs seem balanced, it is hard to tell on one cylinder since their is a hole in one of the mufflers, I really hope I can find a replacement, as the other three look nice and I like the factory exhaust. I will do some minor stuff, recover the seat, clean up some surface rust, and one day repair the emblems and plastic, one side has a crack.
I think I have a nice example of a 1974 CB750 that is mostly original, and I plan to get it as original as possible (with some modern upgrades behind the scenes) It will get some fairly aggressive tires, I plan to hit the dirt trails with it (nothing crazy) and throw it around on a dirt oval (something crazy, a Harley made it in and out, the CB should do fine)
