First of all, many thanks to Jim French for all his hard work helping me at the dragstrip. He goes above and beyond and I wish I had the money to pay him. Thanks Jim!!
We did have a great weekend. Ran a PB on the 1/8 at Greer, 5.13@134.xx. Got a little slower as the evening progressed, but just got real lucky at cutting good lights on the pro tree and racing the finish line. I've gone to this race 5 times I believe. Now I have won it twice, runnerup twice, and went out 2nd round IIRC. Good fun.
At the NOPI race at Atlanta, I did run a 8.20@159.xx on the first time trial. 8.21@159.xx on second pass. Sunday, we slowed down mostly because of a strong headwind. The only time pass we got on Sunday, I totalled screwed the pooch by messing up the Schnitz box settings. I somehow set it to turn on the nitrous in 2nd gear instead of at the hit. Then I think I didn't turn on the fuel pump too. Ran a 8.97@148.xx. We leaked down the motor, but it was 3% or better on all the holes, so we went on. Got my mistakes out of the way and it ran better. Got to the final and didn't think about the wind dying down and the sun had set. Dialed a 8.43, launched, got out of it twice and still went 8.35, breaking out big time. Oh well!!
What was really cool was the other guy, Scott Sameish runs a car tire, 1428cc, spraying nitrous and I was pulling him on the big end. We were runnning within 2 sizes on the nitrous jets and I was pulling 22 degress of timing. He was pulling 14 degrees. Proves my point of timing on a nitrous motor.
Sam, thanks for the shoutout and hope you are getting better expotentially every day. Wish you could make it to Valdosta. Maybe in the Spring
Also, thanks to all of you other guys for the kudos. Good bunch of guys and hope to see alot of you all at Valdosta. Cheers!!
