Hello from NJ
« on: August 31, 2014, 12:20:43 PM »
Hi everyone! After lots of overtime I finally saved up enough money for a bike.Ive been in love with the CB750 for quite a few years now and I got very lucky.I found a '78 mostly all original CB750 SS.Im new to these bikes so please forgive me if I don't know the lingo or use the wrong words.I had a '00 Sportster for 10 years, and a '07CBR600RR for only 3 years.... I lost my job and had to sell them as I was laid off for way too long.I finally started working again at a great new shop.
So...Im a little to short for my bike :-/
Im 5'4 and Im wondering what others my height have done to get better footing?
I did order some 11.5" shocks...though Im not really looking for a lowered look.
I am obsessed with Cafe racers and did my best to turn my sportster into that style but it just never felt right.I wanted to cafe a cb but this bike is so beautiful I don't think I really want to go crazy.
I would like to change the exhaust but have to do some research to fine the right one.If I do change out my exhaust will I have to get the carbs re jetted or are they usually ok?
I dont know much about these bikes so Im here to learn as I know the people who own them are the best people to get knowledge from!

Welcome!

As far as the exhaust, unless you go to open pipe, you should be fine changing it out. Airbox to pods is the mod (not recommended though) that typically requires rejetting.

I have lowering blocks for rear shocks you can have for shipping cost.
