It's my understanding that when you open one to customize it you have to seal it again in an argon filled chamber.  Buz Ras customizes these gauges for Walt Seigl's builds.

Man, this build is fantastic! So in depth, I love it.

Any way you'd want to product a few of those plugs for the Quik-Latch? the fitment is OEM-look.

Still working on the R6 front end conversion. Waiting on some triples from Cognito :). In the mean time, just put on some IKONs. About 1/4" taller than stock. Nice product, and they put on a lighter spring for my tiny frail body. Probably going to take it for a spin tomorrow. Feels good to retire these old leaking shocks.

Good to hear, I think a lot of members use these. I was going to go with either these or Hagons but these IKONs were closer to my existing shock length. I think the Hagons had like an inch or more on them. Didn't want to go too tall.

Probably should gave gotten into racing bikes when I was younger. A buddy of mine is even smaller than I am and he used to race on ostriches, haha.

Whoa, bringing back a post from the first page, haha. I've never used gasket sealant on a head gasket but I'm sure people lay it on thin. Some people like copper spray or similar. I prefer keeping it dry though. I guess I'm saying if used sparingly it's fine.

Haha, that's exactly what he used to do. But that guy is pretty big, my friend was miniature.

Took a ride with the IKONS and there nice. Smoother at highway speeds for sure.

Yeah that's true. You could go nuts with more expensive shocks but these are great. And with not only preload adjustment but damping adjustment, that's nice. Although I see that more like those Sleep Number beds where you can set the bed firmness...you're only going to adjust it once.

Just a little sneak peak at what I'm up to in the shop lately. Installed the R6 front end with Cognito Moto top and bottom triple. Waiting on longer clutch cable, headlight brackets and to finish up extending the wiring to the bars. Fun stuff and thanks a LOT to FunJimmy and Franky for the help and for their write ups.



Anyone know of a simple technique to ensure the clipons are at the same angle?

...and about those clip-ons...they are always adjusted perfect in the shop with tools around, and then you go for a ride and realize how crooked they are.  Back to the shop..."Hell, I can't see anything wrong here"...

Good old oven cleaner will remove that gross blue anodizing on the fork tubes.  I just powder coated over the brakes lol.

The front looks fantastic.

As for the clipons, outline the angle on some cardboard, cut it out and use it as a guide for the other side.
