On the Motogadget Chronoclassic, there is a white/red wire that's not talked about in the manual. Any one know what that is?

Also, the manual says the Tach wire is supposed to connect to the coil switched ground. Is that the yellow and blue wire or is that the black wire to the coils?

Are you sure its not WHITE/BROWN? The W/B is TURN R input. I have not seen a RED/WHITE wire... 

Yes, the YELLOW wire for your coils is the tach signal connection.

It wasn't in one of the two connectors that's pre-installed at the end of the gauge cable. It was loose.

About the tach wire, to clarify, the yellow wire from the gauge (as it says in the manual) goes to the coil's switched ground. Are you saying I can connect it to either the yellow wire or blue wire from the coils as that is the switched ground side? Or is the black wire to the coils the switched ground?

Chronoclassic and m-lock are all wired up but there's a weird issue with the m-lock. I programmed the keys which worked perfectly fine, but when I go back to turn the bike on with a programmed key the m-unit and chronoclassic start flashing randomly. Like power is very quickly intermittently cutting out. I took a video.

I know it's with the m-lock because I removed it temporarily and hooked up my original key ignition and things worked normally. Any ideas? I can't find anything like this issue online. Faulty unit? I have the black wire connected to ground, red wire fused and connected to constant power and brown wire connected to the 'lock' on the m-unit.

This is vey strange.

Figured out the issue! Actually, Brian at A and J Cycles out of New York did, haha. I had the reg/rec sensing wire on the lock terminal as well as the m-lock and it didn't like it. I removed the sensing wire and all is good.

A and J Cycles has a lot of stuff like Cognito products and Motogadget products. I bought the Chronoclassic and the m-lock from them on eBay. Their eBay page accepts offers on products so I got that stuff a little cheaper than other places were selling.

Well the quik-latch came yesterday, holy crap that was quik!

Just finished the install. Pretty dang easy and I think it looks awesome. It also works perfectly. For the last time, thanks Alabama for the suggestion! I highly recommend this if you don't want to carry keys. Here are the pictures.







I turned up a piece of steel to fit in the hole in the receiving end of the tank. Here's the threaded plug.


You can tell that it's been welded in and painted. I have a nut on the underside locking the post. So it's essentially double nutted.

Also did the patina treatment to reduce the "bling" factor.

Thanks Don! I'm very close to a complete bike. Just finishing up the degree process again and my motor will be complete. Then deciding on what jets to use and buying a handful. Very close!

It's kind of crazy how Honda "keyed" the tank doors. One can use any key or flathead screwdriver to open the latch. It makes it more of a PITA for the legit owner to open.  I guess it was a reaction to the late 70s gas crisis and people stealing gas.  This is a MUCH more practical and cleaner solution.

Yeah it's weird. Other CB125's and CL200's I've had don't have a locked cap. Not sure why they did a fake lock. I'd bet you're right with the gas crisis thing.

Degreeing again! This time with a big ass 18" wheel. Soooo much easier to read, my god. I can very easily read down to the .25° even .125° if I want to go nuts.

Well motor is almost all buttoned up. Got the degree to within .125° of each other. Very happy with that. Put the real cover back on, sealed the pucks and torqued it up. Just want to verify nothing changed when I loctited the sprocket bolts.



Got to get on the jet situation.

Speaking of jets, anyone have any recommendations to start? Someone I should be speaking with regarding the CR's? I've been talking with the very knowledgeable Mike from Powerbarn and he recommends the following:

115 main
58 pilot
YY6 or YY7 needle

I trust Mike of course but I figure the more suggestions the better.

I'm going to get a selection with a few jets on either side of the above. It's just hard to guess because there is no basis for what I have done and these carbs. What does everyone else do who has a heavily modded engine?

This one will be more modified that any other I've owned.  Frode (with a MR billet 1000cc block) has a welded bung in his header with an AF probe patched to a meter.

A while ago I was thinking of doing a welded bung for an a/f sensor, but I'll be doing dyno time up in MA (a shop MRieck recommended) so I'll let the pros handle that. Still want to give them as many jets and needles as they need to do runs with. I doubt they have any CR jets on hand. I've never been to a dyno, so not sure what protocol is.
