You spend more of your time riding at full advance. Don't worry about it.
She's got no go. she sounds good, I can ride her out of the driveway, but If I try to do more than 10-15 mph, she just falls on her face. No acceleration.
sounds more like an air/fuel mixture imbalance (jetting or dirty carbs) to me....

Agreed. This wouldn't be caused by your idle timing being slightly off.

$#!+ really? She sat all winter with definately enough gas to fill the petcock. I emptied and cleaned it( not really, I just swished some new gas around in and dumped it a few times to get rid of any old gas and visible debris. I've never worked on one of those. But it sounds simple enough.

If there was visible debris coming out of your tank after it sat, your petcock and filter (if you have one) would have that same debris in it.

This is that moment when you just wanna take off work and fix your motorcycle. It was minimal and sedimentary but it was there. The inside of the tank looked good and I just now learned that there is a filter in there. I've never had cause to remove the petcock. I've only owned the bike for about four years, and she was always a strong runner. I've been doing dilligent maintenance but this is something I overlooked. You guys are awsome.

I started work on this thing again today. I must have gotten a little aggressive with the stud that the  spark advancer rides on when tightening the 10 mm nut. Yep, I sheared off just enough so that it's useless. I'm not sure if is the kind that is screwed or pressed in to the crank. Can anyone help me out? It's a 75 cb750k. Also anyone know the oem part name of that little beauty. I've heard it called several different things. I would usually look up a replacement to get a feel for how it is installed but I don't know what to call it.

I am not sure of the name. But if it just screws off I have a spare engine I may be able to take it off

That would literally save my bacon. Obviously you can name your price. I would be eternally grateful!

I recently put a 2.5mil Oring on my points shaft, fitted well and easier to source and you'd need your head read paying $2.50 for an O ring of any size let alone one that small.
