RE: Look what followed me home

I was looking to get a 78 or 79 Wing and this beauty followed me home. :-)
It's a non running barn find 78 with 13k original miles. Bike was in storage for the past 6 years. Let the sweat and tears begin. :-)

Funny you mention that, my friends always tell me I have a knack for finding this type of things.  8)
This one was in North Broward, 15 min from my job.  :D
Davie and West Ranches are full of barns, people ride horses on the street.
I removed the ugly Hondaline rear rack and a Harley style windshield from the bike.

Nice one Gaucho and congrats on the Wang find ;) I got a Black 77 GL1000 last year and I love it ;D So smooth on the road and even though a large heavy bike it's no slouch when you crank open the throttle. I like your 78 with the different tank panels and gauge cluster and comstar wheels. Post some more pics when you can.Whats your plans for the bike? Also in this section I started a thread Goldwings??? check it out.

Right now I'm getting the electricals sorted out. The bike had all kind of aftermarket switches installed, even a mercury switch as an anti theft device!
After that comes removing the gas tank, treat and clean it and then off to the carbs.
Something tells me I'm going to love this bike.  ;)

Gaucho get you a master kit from Randakk's Cycle in Winston Salem, NC. Great kit and has everything you need to rebuild your Wang carbs the right way the first time. Think it's about $150.00 and their is also a video that's available that walks you through everything step by step if you happen not to be a Goldwing carb expert.

Your right, you'll love the bike ;)

+2 on the Randakk kit. Also, be sure to join the Naked Goldwing Forum. Almost as active as the SOHC4 group and many of us here are members there too.
