Is this calculator adequate or does it not include everything. It's for a car. It seems close for the data entered.

Other calculators for bikes want to include one of the gear ratios.

It seems pretty close. My Z31 300ZX Turbo has a top speed of about 151 MPH, and with my specs
3.7 rear end
6000 RPM redline
225/50R16 tires
.8378 final drive

151.33 MPH top speed.


Wikipedia says the Shiro special was capable of 153 with no limiter, so this is pretty accurate. Most people's top speeds have been around 135-140 but their engines are far from new.

Oh and remember power is usually the limiting factor in top speed runs. Most cars and bikes run out of breath in top gear well before their redline.
