New CB550 Owner - Ready to ride
« on: September 05, 2014, 06:21:03 AM »
Just thought I'd drop in and say hello.  I recently sold my CRG kart, and needed a new project, so I picked up a 75' CB550 from a local guy.  Its in great shape for its age.  I thought it would be a good "Change things as you go" project rather than a "lets completely gut this thing and re-do it" project.  Well, one week into it and I've basically got it down to the frame.  I just can't leave stuff alone.  That being said, I'll be posting a lot of parts in the classifieds section, so, if you need something, I may have it.  And I'm sure I'll be asking a ton of questions as I go.  Here's some pics of the bike as it was when I got it.

Those  pipes and tank/side covers in original paint condition are too precious to rattle can or paint over. Sell them as is and buy a damaged set to re-paint if you opt for that route.

Bike looks awfully good from those pictures!

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Lewis
