non heat paint chassis
« on: September 05, 2014, 10:14:50 PM »
Hello. I've just wire brushed my frame back to the bare metal. Then gave it 2 coats of white knite rust guard primer and 2 coats of rust guard gloss black. I didn't think about the heat. Has any body ever done this and did it work out ok? any thoughts appreciated? Cheers. Mike.

I just spoke with a rep at White Knight paints and he says the paint is good for 80-100 degrees, after that it can break down quicker. I wonder what temperature it gets around the chassis ( not directly at mounting points)?  Mike.

I'm sure it goes over 100 but I wouldn't worry, lots of them have been spray bombed with great results.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.
