New project

Greetings.
Just started on my 550 refurbishment! In the process of stripping it down to the frame and I'm very excited. Hope to send it for powder coat in a week or so.

Welcome Fred!  I have a 550 too, great bikes.  Will your bike be a stock restore or custom?

Welcome Fred.  Get a few posts under your belt (I think 5-10) and you can then post pictures.  Since we are are visually-oriented here, we'd love to see some pictures of before and your on-going progress!

Having some trouble.
Decided that since the bike was not running when it came to me that I needed to dismantle and check out the top end. It all looks really good but I would really like to re-do the top end, valves and rings. Having a #$%* of a time getting the tensioner out. Is there a secret?
nothing is stripped and tensioner seems to function properly just can't get it out!
