That is one sweeeeeet looking seat. Looks like yoga mat on bottom and open cell on top? Whats that middle foam?

I decided to buy a whole new MC unit from ebay which is all black and has a sleeker design than the stock bulky one. It was only $50 bucks, there is a tutorial over at chopcult.com which shows you how to remove the reservoir and install a small sleek clear tube which acts as your reservoir. The bottom and middle part of the seat are 2 different type of camping mats I purchased from WalMart, its actually pretty comfortable!

The urinal was the greatest idea I had ha. It will be in every garage we build from now on! I got my MC in today and I'm bummed about running it because I think it clutters up the bars, Its a safety factor I need though as with out a front brake on my Harley I don't think I'd be riding today......

Here is a small update. I cut up the stock plastic inner fender and got my new MC in, I need to find someone to make me a new cable for it.

Here's a little update, polished my front forks up and powdercoated my headlight brackets. Had a new brake line made up to work with my ape hangers, and cleaned up and painted my disk.

Did you rake the neck at all? Do your trees come anywhere close to the tank when you turn hard?

I raked the neck 5* on mine by cutting out a pie wedge. I found a how-tohere (start on p. 34). The problem with this method is it moved the top of the steering stem back about a 3/4 inch. I can't even set the stock tank on, so I'm wondering how much space you have between the top triple and the peanut tank.

If it's not too much to ask, could you post a couple shots of what it looks like when the bars are turned hard to one side? Also, could I get some dimensions on your tank? I like the way yours looks and want to use a similar peanut tank on mine. I picked up a tank at a swap meet, but even with some persuasion it just didn't look right. It'd be nice to have some measurements to go on.

Motion Pro will custom make cables to whatever length you need. It only costs a small amount more than the stock cable.

No modifications done to the rake of the bike, the tank is a sporty tank from Dime City. It will be a day or so before I pull the bike off the lift. The bars clear the tank with plenty of room when at full lock as well. All I did was get lower shocks for the rear and put the forks as high as they would go before hitting the bars. And as for the ape hangers I'm 6'1" and this is a pretty little bike so the bars fit me great. I heard not so great things about Motion pro custom cables so I went with Barnett cables and they turned out great. I had a local rubber and fittings supply store build me the new front brake line for only 40 Bucks with new banjo fittings. At this point the bike is done, all I need to do is go over and make sure all the nuts and bolts are tight and wait for dry roads, which could be a while since we got over 2' of snow the other day!

Got the bike running great! Only had it out for 2 rides since the weather hasn't been cooperating but she's running good.

I was disappointed the first ride as the bike was sputtering when about 1/4 throttle. I read multiple posts about checking the boots to the carbs because if it has a air leak it has a tendency to act that way. Low and behold the PO didn't get a very good seal on the #3 carb and after fixing that and replacing my faulty oil pressure switch its now time to enjoy the ride. Its funny/gratifying when at a stop light cars honk and give you a big thumbs up with a smile on their face! Ill update after the riding season as I have a few more plans for it. Thanks again guys!

How is the seat working for you? It looks kinda like you are gonna really be hanging on at speed. Maybe a little more curve upward at the back, or angle change?

Bike is real cool tho, keep it up. Run that front brake too, it is hard to look cool getting cleaned up off the road because some clown on a cellphone

HA! my thought exactly the first time I ripped through the gears! I will make a seat that has more of a lip in the back so I don't have to hold on as tight! Putting on the front brake was the best decision I made as the rear brake isn't all that great, front brakes account for more than 80% of your braking power and after racing dirt bikes for years I don't think I would have been able to ride it without the front brake.

Glad I found this one! Even if it seems t be a dead thread. I'm building a 79' CB650 as my first ever bike and build and think I see a few good ideas. How is the seat attached? Did you do any re wiring?

Looking good. With the longer front fork legs, and the lower seat (in the frame) the 80-82 CB650C's look chopper ready.
