Just joined up last week. Never realized there was a place like this!! Thought I messed up when I got my '76 CB750, but have found all the info I need right here. I just like the style of these old bikes; tough, no-nonsense, clean. Plus, even with some parts being outrageously pricey, I can still get away cheaper than most any other used bike out there; especially since I only paid 200 bucks for my 750.

So, HI EVERYONE and this site is awesome!!

Welcome. Smart shopping can overcome "outrageous" pricing. Check out the parts supplier list.

Yeah, I spent alot of time checking out the parts and tech sections/links. I think I pretty much found all the parts I will need (for now) and my projected costs are going to be pretty good. I can pretty much do my whole bike for the price of doing just the engine in my G-body Oldsmobile! Use alot less gas too....

Hope the um lady in the avatar photo was not included in the purchase of the bike, you will never get your bike how you want it because all your extra money will be going to feeding her. On the other hand if she can give birth to some cool old bikes then she might be worth keeping around. Just messin with ya. Seriously welcome to the forum.

At least she is the 'better' kind of obese, being pear shaped. Those of us that carry the extra poundage around our guts are the ones most likely to suffer from all the nasties, according to a new medical report just released here in Canada.

Checked point gap today, must have been nearly .023!! Could'nt find my feeler gauges so I cheated by using a spark plug gapper and a small pocket screwdriver, I figure the gap is now between .018 and .015. The great part is that when I went for a quick ride to see if I got anywhere, I found I could nearly pull the front end off the ground! No more stalling or bogging! Now to stop the flaming backfires...

Ditched the old avatar huh? I wasmeaning to say that if that was a picture of someone you know that I did not mean to offend anyone. I was just messing with ya. Nice to hear you got your bike running better. It is always nice when you do some work to the ride and it pays off with better performance or looks. Enjoy.

No 455 in my Olds, that ID comes from a '68 LeMans with a Pontiac 455 I used to have. My Olds is running a '71 350 Olds engine and trans, (It's an '86 G-Body). I love my Olds but it's alot of $$$$ to build anything but a Chevy these days

Plus she's a gas hog

Shoulda known better than to put a Holley on it.

About the bike you are right 100%, I am completely stoked now that she's running better (and with only a few minutes work)!!

There is a point where there is to much cushion to be pushing. If you have to move the "cushion" out of the way before you can even start pushing then it is to much. Or maybe I just am not the man I thought I was. That could be from eating all those Egg Mc Muffins and sitting around on the couch all day. Now where is my cold pizza and my beer?

Well said! Now about the bikes...anybody tried the Accel coil and wires kit? Thinking of getting one for the 750, take care of the wires and the coils at the same time. Opinions? Experiences with said product?

I've used Accel stuff on cars/trucks for years and have always been very happy with quality and performance, but, of course these CB's are totally different animals....
