High Desert Noob
« on: April 03, 2015, 11:25:06 AM »
What's happenin'? My name's Bob and I live in SoCal's High Desert, Lancaster to be specific. I recently acquired a '72 CB750 that was chopped when brand new and then featured in Street Chopper in April of '73. The bike has lived most of its life in a garage, but time has not been kind to it and neither have several of its owners. Poor old thing hasn't seen the road since 1983, but I'm gonna change that! Enough yapping, onto some pics!

Unfortunately, it doesn't look this good anymore.

The day I picked it up.

Loaded up for the drive home.

The bike is currently at a co-workers shop getting the ignition re-wired, carbs rebuilt and a new rear brake setup installed. My intention is to keep the bike as period correct to 1972 as possible, while making some concessions to the modern electronic ignition and rear disc setup we're installing.

In any case, I look forward to contributing and learning as much as I can from this forum. Thanks for having me!

Bob

Welcome Bob! Nice vintage chopper with history to boot. I used to live in Apple Valley, and worked out of Victorville, so I passed through or near Lancaster many times.
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

Nice clean scoot! Good luck on the restore.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)
