Hello,
Just recently picked up my 1981 Honda CB650 Custom and in trying to make sure its good to go for I am redoing the front brakes on it. I took apart the master cylinder with intentions of simply rebuilding it but after delving into it, there is a good amount of corrosion and gunk and I think I should just replace it, especially considering a new reservoir costs $40 alone. I found this one on Ebay through someone over on CB650.com:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-CB-Brake-Master-Cylinder-CB650-CB650SC-CB750-CB750SC-EXPEDITED-SHIPPING-/271183214542?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3AHonda%7CModel%3ACB650&hash=item3f23c777ce&vxp=mtr#shpCntIdIt says it will work with an 81' CB650C but it also says it will work with a standard CB650. My question is how can it be compatible with both models. My bike, having dual front calipers, should have a larger piston then the single caliper standard 650 shouldn't it?? It says the piston bore for the ebay unit is 14mm but I can't seem to find info on the appropriate bore for the 650C. I am also not sure if it will work on the stock wheel barrow style bars, which I will be keeping at least till I get it all mechanically sorted and start in on cosmetic things. Any help or info any one can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
