D.I.D. cam chain stock?
« on: September 15, 2014, 12:10:57 PM »
Anyone know if Honda spec'd D.I.D. cam chains on '76 CB550s stock? Just replacing my valve cover gasket, and noticed a D.I.D brand chain. Wondering if it's aftermarket, or whether it could be original.

Thanks!

Many Jap manufacturers sourced chains from DID, among other things like Rims. Unless you think your engine has been apart, its likely original.  The same DID chain could come in a box marked Honda or DID.

Could be a price difference.

Cool, thanks. Little things liked rounded off and mismatched bolts are making me wonder if this engine has been apart. But if Honda used DID, I'll assume it's original. Thanks for the quick response!
