Hi Everyone,
I have wanted a 550 Four for a long time and I finally got me one. One of my early bikes was a 1982 CB450T Hawk but after that I have owned only
modern bikes including a modern Triumph Bonneville. Well, now I am back in the Honda Fours family. My modern bike is a 2010 Honda CBF600 which I love dearly so my 1978 CB550 F SuperSport is in good company.
I had my first bonding experience with the bike yesterday. I was out riding for the first time since buying it and 3 miles in, it goes dead. The dreaded main fuse problem but thankfully it did not melt and deform the whole fuse box. The fuse clips were really bad so I got new fuses and after some sanding, cleaning and a dab of dielectric grease, I took it out all of ten miles today. The fuse box is warm to the touch and the fuse clips are not so hot that they can't be touched. The fuse glass is just a little warmer than air temp. So maybe this ok? I do plan on upgrading the fuse box eventually. I am now carrying a bunch of spares along.
A picture of the bike or you guys won't believe me.
Two days with the bike and I love it so much already!
